Bonjour Bootcamp, Plein Air in Provence - June 12-17 2025
Chateau-based Artists Retreat in the South of France
The cost includes all accommodations, food on the estate (breakfast, lunch and dinner), grab-and-go lunch ingredients if painting off the estate, entrances to shows and exhibits, and ground transportation. A group lunch out and a group dinner out are paid at our guest's own expense and are optional. Our pick-up point is either of the 2 train stations on Avignon. Marseilles airport pickup can be arranged.
The estate is only half an hour from Avignon. Avignon is a world heritage site. It is surrounded by many historical landmarks with an artistic connection. We will visit Saint Rémy de Provence and van Gogh’s home where he lived for just over a year. We will walk in his footsteps, paint what he painted and see what he saw. We also visit the medieval city of Les Baux and the spectacular audiovisual tribute to artists at Les Carriere des Lumieres. Your itinerary includes painting in fabulous locations, markets, vineyards, and visits to breathtaking hilltop villages. We’ve chosen locations where we have access to our vehicles, materials and cafés. Bring your camera because you will want to snap references to paint later as you will be truly inspired by your surroundings.
The workshop experience is open to artists of all levels with a special emphasis on foundational art skills. There will be demos, one-on-one painting sessions and critiques. You will explore different approaches and create art using the principles learned. You will also be plein air painting on the historic Château's Estate.
The workshop is especially suitable for beginners and artists who want to transition from the studio to painting the landscape outdoors, “plein air” painting - whether they use oil/acrylic, watercolor, or pastels.
Using the atelier methodology of working together as a group, Workshops in France will guide you through a week of immersive art learning while enjoying the local food, wine and culture famous to southern France. Guests can choose to follow the program or paint independently.
Suitable for artists of all levels and all media, from fearless beginners to painting professionals. Non-painting partners are welcome.
Once registered, we'll be in touch with all the details to help you arrive prepared.
